Independence and Ethics
We maintain full editorial independence. Manufacturers and retailers do not pay for or influence our conclusions, rankings, or scores. We do not accept compensation for favorable coverage. Conflicts of interest are disclosed and staff recuse where appropriate.
Evidence Standards
Every claim must be supported by: (a) our test data, (b) direct measurement, or (c) reputable primary sources. We label assumptions and note limitations. Photos, diagrams, and pad layouts represent the exact configurations tested.
Review Process
- Topic selection: reader needs and seasonal demand.
- Hands-on testing prioritized; otherwise, we clearly mark preliminary guidance and queue items for full testing.
- Multi-editor review for clarity and accuracy before publication.
- Final checklist: methodology links, data visuals, and disclosure confirmations.
Corrections and Updates
If we make an error, we correct it promptly and add a note describing what changed and why. Product revisions trigger re-tests and updated recommendations with visible timestamps.
Product Samples and Loans
When we receive samples or loans, we disclose it on the page. Samples receive the same protocols and may be returned or donated after testing. We prefer retail purchases to avoid cherry-picked units.
